State the problem you are having since it is not the same at all. Settings
will never apply to Contacts you import. They will apply to new ones you
create.

That's the way it works. Settings only apply to new Contacts. You'd
have
to run code to change the fields for existing Contacts.
Should I consider exporting then reimporting my contacts ?
