I understand. I wanted to see if the sound was still there before they were
saved. There is no reason you should have to save them first to open them,
but if you would rather do that, it's your prerogative.
Do you have the speaker icon in the SysTray? Double click on it. Any of the
volume sliders all the way down?

Thanks Bruce:
I don't have a problem with opening the files after saving them to my HHD.
They open fine with PPT viewer. It's the sound that is now missing.
Thanks again

And what if you actually open them in OE?
1: Save the attachment to your HDD. Right click on it and Open With |
Choose Program. Find and choose a program that works, (PowerPoint
Viewer). and then check the box: Always use this program to open this
kind of file. This should enable you to open these attachments in the
future.
2: Unable to open .PPS attachments directly from Outlook Express using
XP/SP2 or XP/SP3:

The problem with viewing PPS files in OE6 was resolved by copying them
to hard drive. However, I can no get sound on my PPS files. Anyone
have any suggestions or could it have been caused with a windows update
? I have tried everything.
Thanks
