Default Easy way to get EML or MSG files into Outlook?

However, EML and MSG files both turn out to have these problems in
O2K:

1. If I drag 'n drop EML into O2K, yes the message shows up, but in
the form of an EML attachment. One is then required to double-click
on this which then makes it open in OE. Not very nice.

Clearly you wouldn't expect to open a Word document with Adobe Reader and
expect the results to make sense. EML files are Outlook Express files.
Outlook doesn't handle them. If you want to see what they contain, open
them in OE.

2. I found way to convert to MSG and then managed to get that format
into O2K but then it looks and acts like an unsent email and I have no
info on when the reply went out, etc. No good.

Why would you expect the time stamps to transfer? We have no idea if the
tool you're using even retains that data in its version of the EML file.

When I dump EMLs into OE, which I can do for those accounts I use OE
for, they're there as sent files, intact, as if sent from OE directly.
Need to do the same for the EMLs for the O2K acct.

After adding them to Outlook Express, export them to Outlook.
FileExportMessages. Don't expect Outlook to hande files native to another
application.

p.s., probably begs question, 'why use the freeware to send mail from
then?' -- because it's there resident at all times in systray. When
in a hurry, don't need to launch + wait for O2K, respond directly
right then and there. g

Why not start Outlook and leave it running?
