Default Afraid to Close Outlook!!

The setting is fine, but something is causing outlook to not mark the
messages downloaded. This can happen for a number of reasons: bad internet
connection, too many messages on server and checking too frequently, an
antispam filter scanning mail that interrupts the process are the most
common.

If you are using an virus scanner to scan mail as you download, disable it.
(You may need to uninstall and reinstall the antivirus, without the email
intergration).

Then try this: disable check every xx min so it only checks if you press F9.
Press F9 and let it download. If you have web access to the mail, check
online to verify outlook has all the mail then close and reopen outlook.
Does it download it again?

Recently switched from Outlook Express to Outlook (Office 2003)

I have my email settings to "leave a copy on the server" for 6 days (so I
can access via webmail while on the road).

Everytime I close Outlook and re-launch it re-downloads all the emails
still on the server.

How do I change settings so it only downloads each message once and never
again?

Thanks in advance!!!
