Odd. I can add a Group named "Test", and a Contact named "Test". The Group
icon and the Contact icon are different, and easily distinguished. I can
add the Contact named, "Test", in the "To:" field, and I can add the Group
named, "Test", in the "Bcc:" field. The result, on the receiving end,
looks
like this:

In the Address Book and on the Contact List, a group icon is different from
a contact icon.
In the Address Book, a group name is in bold and the name is alphabetized
with the other names.
On the Contact list, a group name is not bold and the name is at the bottom
of the list.

If you start an email and enter Test in the To and BCC fields and click
Send, the Check Names box opens.
The Test group will have a group icon and the name will be bold.
The group name is alphabetized with the other names.
Select the test contact and OK.
The Check Names box opens.
Select the Test group and OK.
