Default Lost contacts

Then your data would be perfectly intact.
Your installation is not, of course, since you cannot do an inplace upgrade,
especially one that skips multiple versions.
Did you back up your data before you tried this?
Make sure you know where your Outlook data file is and back it up. Then
create a new Outlook profile from scratch and connect it properly to your
data file. You will also need to decide if you want to use your old data
file or update to the newer file format that Outlook 2003 and 2007 use.
Instructions for all of this are posted here daily.

The upgrade was done by installing the newr version, I saw that it was
going
to delete the old version but i assumed that the data would still be
intact.
the old version was office 2000, the new is office for small buisiness
2007
not sure of the version number.

Upgrade installations are not recommended with Outlook. You must install
clean, then migrate your data correctly. Provide precise details on how
you
attempted this "upgrade" and provide accurate version information. There
is
no Outlook 200.
