Default PDF Attatchments Won't Open

If you Right click a PDF on a web site and select Save Target As, can
you open the save PDF file?

Are the problem PDF files all coming from the same person?

Did you try opening a saved e-mailed PDF files in Notepad? Does it
start with
%PDF

Assuming you can open a saved PDF file from a web site, if you e-mail
one of those files to yourself can you open it?

No, I can't open any other PDF files that are emailed. But if I go to
a web
site, I can open them no worries. The problem is when they are emailed
to me.

If so, try opening the problem PDF files in Notepad. The first few
letters should be
%PDF

If not, it may not be a PDF file. It could be the sender made a
mistake. These include sending a short cut to the file instead of a
file, or if the sender is using a Mac, they might have sent in an
incompatible format for PC. In the latter case, if you get 2 PDF
attachments with the same name, then other one. The Apple-Double
format
sends 2 files. One is a resource fork only usable on another Mac,
the
other the actual data file which is usable on a PC or Mac.

The
message I get when I try to open is "There was an error opening
this
document. The file is damaged and could not be repaired". I have
tried
saving
to a folder but still won't open. I do not have any anti virus
