IE6/OE newsreader won't synchronize 1 newsgroup
Internet Explorer 6 Outlook Express newsreader works fine for me,
overall.
What does Internet Explorer have to do with accessing newsgroups in Outlook
Express?
Just my personal opinion, but my personal preference is to disregard
synchronizing and rather have OE check for news when it checks for mail.
Tools | Accounts | News. Check: " Include this account...........".
While in a newsgroup: View | Current View. Make sure Show All Messages and
Group Messages By Conversation are checked.
Tools | Options | Read. Uncheck: Get XXX headers at a time. Then, right
click on the newsgroup in the Folder Tree | Properties | Local File | Reset.
Switch to another folder and then back and all available messages will be
downloaded again.
Or go to Tools | Options | Maintenance | Clean Up Now and choose the group,
or server at the top and then Reset.
It would be a good idea to compact your folders when you're done.
Click on Outlook Express at the top of the folder tree so no folders are
open. Then: File | Work Offline (or double click Working Online in the
Status Bar). File | Folder | Compact all folders. Don't touch anything until
the compacting is completed.

Internet Explorer 6 Outlook Express newsreader works fine for me, overall.
It downloads newsgroups fine. No problem. Except it will not download
_one_ newsgroup. Only one particular newsgroup lately that I'm having
some difficulty downloading. This happens when I . . .
verizon.news.net
synchronize account in OE newsreader
all newsgroups update/download/synchronize but for _one_ newsgroup
So I do a go-around whenever I want to read new postings in that _one_
newsgroup (what a darn pain)
I select that _one_ newsgroup
highlight it, and R click to "properties"
click on tab "local file"
click on "reset" (after all headers and messages are deleted in this
_one_ newsgroup)
synchronize account in OE newsreader
then this _one_ newsgroup will download/synchronize all messages
However, as you can see this is a long process to achieve what should be
achievable w/o this "go-around" . . .
Any suggestions as to how to fix it? That is, having new messages to this
_one_ newsgroup downloaded and available to read and answer w/o all this
stupidity?
Regards.
