I have my default calendar and another calendar that I set up shared with
a co-worker. I would like for my co-worker to be able to import events

I do not believe shared folders can be the destination of an import.
However, a fairly simple work-around is to create a temporary calendar
folder in your delivery location folder set (where your default folders
reside), import into that folder, then move the contents of that folder to
the shared calendar. You can then delete the extra calendar folder or
simply leave it around for the next time, if this isn't a one-off
situation.
