Default Outlook 2007 Default Area Code

Can't reproduce the behavior. There must be something else going on like an
add-in or other telephony program.
There is no reason the country code should have any effect on how the fax
dials if you set up your dialing rules correctly.

I have tried creating a new contact, but the problem persists. I have had
others in my office try to figure this out on their desktops also, but
none
of us have had any luck. We cannot use our fax software if the +1 is in
there
as we need to dial a 9 first. It is easy enough to remove the 1 when you
are
sending only one fax, but that is not an option when sending to a
distribution group with a 100 phone numbers.

That setting only applies to new Contacts you create, not existing ones.

I am having the same problem. When I make changes to the country code
the
changes don't reflect in outlook. When I turn off the outlook dialing
properties option to not use the country code I also don't see any
difference. The 1+ shows up no matter what I try. Is there a setting
on
the
Exchange server perhaps?
