Default Lost messages after power lost during compacting

Probably. You can check the Recycle bin for bak files that are backups of
the dbx files. See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#2 Otherwise, my DBXpress
program (www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/) has an extract from disk feature that
will analyze the entire hard drive and bypass the file system and if the
messages are still there, it will recover them. However, if this happened
last May, it would seem likely that the messages would no longer be there,
but there is no way of knowing without running the program.

I was compacting my email inbox (Outloox Express 6.0) when the power went
out
at home. That was last may, and everything before then (going back to Dec
2001) has disappeared from my Inbox. Is it lost forever?
