Default My Contacts folder no longer shows in the navigation pane

I am in folder view. I get: “The address list could not be displayed.
The Contacts Folder associated with the address list could not be
opened. It may have been moved or deleted ….etc., etc.” The contact
list exists - it shows up as a second Contacts folder if I am in
something like a new mail message and press the To: button. But it is
not the default for some reason. I am somehow missing the pointer
that associates the files, and i don't know how to get it back.

Click ToolsE-mail AccountsView or change existing directories or address
booksNext. Select Outlook Address Book and click Change. COrrect the
invalid folder references there.
