HTTP protocol is an obsolete protocol so it won't be changed. If you want
notification you need to use POP3 or the connector.

In outlook 2007 I use an hotmail account without connect.
My hotmail account is an old one and outlook supports it with no
problems.
However, although I did the settings for, I do not hear a sound or don't
see any email icon when a new message arrives.
Why not?
Because new message notification is not supported for HTTP accounts.

Cant believe it. I mean one of the basic needs, and you use outlook, a ms
product, and hotmail, a ms product, and you still don't get a simple easy
email notification in 2009.
Well ladies and gentlemen would you please welcome MS.
