Default sub-folders always expanded

Have you tried yet another identity? At the very least it will alleviate the
need to try a new Folders.dbx file.

Thanks for your reply Bruce Hagen, MS-MVP.

No other changes in settings because I noted all settings before the
identity creation and after I made all settings the same think consistency
would be my ally.

No, it does not. I named it 20APR09.

The problem persists.

This started after creating a new identity?

And there were no other changes in settings?

Does the new identity have the word Main in it?

Create yet another identity. Do not use the word Main in the name. Import
all of the folders. Does the problem persist?

Hi,

After creating a new identity and transferring my existing folders to
it, and deleted the old identity, whenever I open a folder that has
multiple sub-folders in it, all folders expand and its a hassle because
I have multiple nested sub-folders. Once I collapse the sub-folders, as
long as I do not close Outlook Express, they remain closed. But when I
close Outlook Express and then re-open it, the sub-folders are all
expanded again. How do I fix the sub-folders always expanded problem?

I don't know if its relevant, but it does not make a difference if
"Automatically display folders with unread messages" is checked or
unchecked.

If I deleted Folders.dbx, I lose all organization of the sub-folders
which would create hours of work for me. Can Folders.dbx be rebuilt in
a manner that maintains folder and sub-folder organization?

Compacting all folders does not change a thing either.

Any help is appreciated.
