You can close the favorites list in Outlook 2007 - click the little chevrons
on the right side of the bar. Or you can put only the folders you want to
see on favorites and hide the mail folder list.
You can get rid of RSS capability and the folders, but you should do it
before you create a PST - see

Hello JD! 'Solved the problem' - just great! My 2007 Outlook does indeed
have the 'favourite folders' option so don't know why yours was missing.
My
annoyance is that these 'favourites' are duplicated below under 'mail
folders' - I WANT TO LOSE the 'favourietes' which is just so much clutter.
I'd also like to lose Junk e-mail, RSS Feeds and other garbage folders.
Can
you help me!

Hi,
Can someone show me where the "Favorite Folders" is located in Outlook
2007? In my old Outlook 2003, it is always loacted on the top of the
navigation pane. In 2007, it is hidden under "Public Folders", which
is
too deep in the structure and hence loose its meaning to use it. The
menu
says that I can turn it on or off by go to main menu/view/navigation
pane/favorite folders. But my navigation pane option has only
"normal",
"minimized", "off" and "current view pane". I don't see "favorite
folders" there. Can someone help me out? I appreciate that.
