if you repeat the steps you used to send the first pictures, do you see the
option to resize? to the best of my recollection, outlook 2002 doesn't offer
it, but windows xp does.

No it wasn't. This is a standard option in the Operating system's Picture
viewer, not Outlook.

no , what I encountered was within the Outlook package. The only other
item open would be MS Word.
