pst backup mystery
With what are you backing up the data file?
BTW a backup, today, of your data file will create a backup containg all
data. You cannot do an incremental backup of the data file

Thanks. But how do I now get round this? I have just created a brand new
backup and I still have the same problem.
I think I had closed it, surely by closing Outlook down you are closing
the file?
Sorry, novice here!

Because you failed to disconnect the file from the Outlook profile before
you deleted it.
You must close any PST file from Outlook before you delete it from the
hard drive.

Hi.
Using Office 2003 with Vista SP1
I backup all my Outlook folders in one "pst" file most months and call
them
"outlook-03-09" for March backup and so on each month.
Today I created May backup "outlook-05-09" and tried deleted March file,
it
will not delete with Outlook running. So I closed Outlook.
When I now start Outlook it looks for the deleted file and says default
e-mail folders can not be found. So I have to restore for recycle bin
and
leave in folder.
I like to delete old backups and just keep most recent. Any idea why
this is happening?
Thanks
