Norman,

Thank You so much for the link you sent!!! I have only looked at it
for a minute but I can see it has my answers. You were correct, Frontier
customer in Arizona. I am very new to alot of these things and just don't
know where to go to find everything. I really appreciate the help!!!

Navigating some ISP web sites is easier than others. I have a slight
prejudice toward my own ISP because I am familiar with it. I haven't really
looked at the site critically. When I see other ISP customers, I often try
to locate information on their ISP sites; some (like Comcast) are easier
than others (like Qwest).

I also picked up on a lot of stuff by just observing as I go along. I don't
have a lot of useful links to refer people to, though. I should probably
build up a library; but I am a naturally lazy person.

The Internet is an amorphous mass of layers and protocols; gets very
confusing trying to keep stuff categorized. Your Internet connection, for
example, is a TCP/IP transport layer. On that connection ride protocols
such as HTTP/HTTPS (web service, ports 80 and 443), NNTP/NNTPS (news
service, ports 119 and 463), SMTP/SMTPS/SMTP-STARTTLS (email sending, ports
25, 465, and 587), and POP3/POP3S (email downloading, ports 110 and 995).
There are many more servies, including NTP (time) and IMAP (online email
storage). Learning all of this can be a daunting experience at times.
