Default header.htm automatically generated for emails

Somehow you did something that turned on footnotes. Or could it be review?
See if you have Review enabled.

This is something new that started after I reinstalled Office. Not a clue
what to look for and why it's being added automatically by Word.

It sounds like you have a header set in word. Close Outlook, verify word
is
closed. Find the .dot file and open it in word for editing. I'm not sure
if
you need to edit normal.dot or the email .dot file - check both.

either adds a bunch of lines drawn at the bottom, or worse, attaches a

named "headers.htm" to the email. I'm using Word as the editor and
sending
in HTML format.

Since I use this system for business (responding to questions from

students) , that attachment now gets my emails sent to the receivers
Spam
Box
about 1/2 the time.

How do I fix this? I've tried editing the "normal.dot", but Word does
not
permit me to save that file, because "it's in use". And Vista does not
allow
me access to the folder to save it under another name, then rename it
later.
