Default Outlook Express 6 e-mail messages are missing from the Inbox f

Gerry,

Thank you. I don't think there is any evidence of folder corruption. I
enabled show hidden files & folders. I found the inbox file, which is an
Internet Explorer file, and it is dated today 6/9. How do I know if it has
the lost emails in it and what do I do from here?

Thank you,
Sammie

Is there any evidence of folder corruption? Using Windows XP you
need to enable show hidden files. Start, Control Panel, Folder
Options, View, Advanced Settings. Next enter Windows Explorer.
Using Tools, Find, Files and Folders search your C drive with
"inbo*.dbx" without quotes as the search criteria and see if you can
find more than one folder. Note the date / time stamp on the files
and the older folder will contain your missing messages. The
original inbox will appear as inbox. dbx. The next as inbox (01) dbx,
then inbox (02) dbx etc. The file extension can also appear as .dbt
i.e. a temporary folder.

Full Windows version

- WinXP

Norton antivirus - Is your subscription current? When does it expire?

- Yes, just renewed it in February.

My ISP provides McAfee but I don't believe it's running on my
computer. Find out.

- How?

I also have system mechanic software installed that performs

Ugh. If you think your Registry needs to be "cleaned" or "repaired,"

The other day I realized that messages dated from the end of 2005

anything
(knowingly) and I have the view set to show all messages. I don't

anything that I may have done to cause this. I use Norton

Can anyone tell me what process to use to restore these emails
without
going to any expense if possible? Thank you!!
