Default Birthdays do not appear in the display tab

Do you sync with a handheld device? That is the usual cause of things like
this. The calendar item is separate from the contact and is not deleted
when the field is set to 'none'.

Why do the birthdays disappear on the display tab. I try to find peoples
birthday and can't seem to locate them. They still show up in calendar
view.
Im using OL.2007 vista. Can this be the way the program is ? Thanks much
for
any comment on this.
