If I would have had my time zone set to the (GMT -5:00) Eastern Time (US &
Canada) but just not had the box checked over the last years that Indiana
did not change time in the Spring and Fall would my Outlook calendar
appointments have moved ahead if I simply checked the box for my server and
workstations to change automatically or would the appointments still move
ahead? If I understand the Microsoft paper correctly the appointments would
stay the same.

I found a Microsoft workaround to resolve my appointment issue but I can
find the address now. Basically it said to export the Calendar Appointment
to a file before changing the Time Zone, Change the time Zone to the desired
zone and Import them back into the calendar. It also said that the
(GMT -5:00) Indiana (East) time zone was obsolete now.

When you set your Windows clock and check the Time Zone settings under
Date
and Time (DST checked) and you have done the same in Outlook Calendar
options for DST checked, all works as expected. If something is out of
step, you will find problems. If you have a PDA, you will also need to
check that option in the settings.
