I found the padlock symbol - thanks for the pointer, but all that does is
change the details of the appointment to "private appointment" - i don't want
to see this type of entry on a calender that I want to print out for purely
business use - any suggestions?

It has a Private button on all versions of Outlook that I have ever used.
Which version are you on?

My contacts birthdays are automatically shown on my outlook calendar. If
I
open the recurring series, the appointments tab does not have a "private"
option. How do I leave out my contacts birthdays when printing or viewing
my
calendar. Or how do I set up my contacts birthdays to be private so that
I
can leave them out?
Thanks
