There is a Spouse/Partner field as well in the contact form. You can use
this to to specify the name of the partner.
The downside though is that you cannot use this field directly for a mail
merge to envelopes. You can still create an export of your contacts with
this field to a csv-file and use that as the source for your mail merge.

I inherited a used computer with Outlook 2002 SP3 installed. I would like
to use the contacts feature to print on paper a list of my friends and
also eventually to learn to use the contact information to address
envelopes. When a couple (married or unmarried) use different names --
e.g. John Smith and Mary Jones -- I cannot figure out how to get both of
their names on one contact card. The closest I have been able to achieve
is something bizarre like Smith, Mary Jones John. How can I get two names
on one card? If not possible in Outlook, can someone suggest a better
program? Excuse me if my terminology is wrong; I'm new to Outlook.
