Default Outlook 2007 alternate month shading

It's always worked like that - see the screenshot at
http://www.outlook-tips.net/archives/2008/20080520.htm.

If dates within the month are colored (as they are black in the screenshot),
it’s the effect of categorizing events marked busy.

I don't recall alternate months in the "Month" being shaded before I
installed US holidays. The current month is white but previous and
following
alternate moths are shaded in the default calendar color. I hate my
calendar
looking like a preschooler's drawing in crayon colors.
Can I change this? I can't find any option in the "Options" under tools
to
do so. If not, can I at least chage the shading to a light grey rather
then
the default colors?
