Renaming the correct file, now i have this message:
"Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook, Unable to open the Outlook window.
The set folders could not be opened."
I'm in Windows 7 operating system.

You renamed the wrong file. You should rename MSMAPI32.DLL
See http://www.msoutlook.info/question/137
Make sure that the other file is still on your system (named properly and in
its original location) or you might need to repair your Windows installation
now.

I am sorry and super frustrated to say that this renaming of the MAPI did
not
work for me with the same problem.

I just installed Office 2003 from a disk and cannot open Outlook. I get
this
error message instead:
Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. MAPI32.DLL is corrupt or the wrong
version. This could have been caused by installing other messaging
software.
Please reinstall Outlook.
Reinstallation does not help. All other Office programs work fine.
Any ideas anyone? Thanks!
