Default transfer calender computer to computer

When I loaded up my two calenders from one computer to another. Instead of
putting my calenders there, it created a new one. Although I can see my two
calenders side by side with new one. It won't do reminders on the new
calender as it says there is nothing on "the" calender. Even when I enter a
new date on my calenders it still won't tell me reminders. Tell me I don't
have to sit there and enter a year's worth of appointments one by one please.
HELP!
