Default Distribution Lists

No - recipient (me, at home) has e-mail coming in in rtf.

I guess I'll just have to recreate them. Bummer! Thanks for your help.

Out of ideas. Can't repro the problem nor have I seen it reported.
Your recipients aren't set to receive in plain text only, are they?

No AV that I'm aware of. Just straightforward e-mail. No scanning.

The procedure works for everyone else. In what information store does
this
DL reside? What is your answer about AV software?

In Outlook 2003, I create an rtf e-mail, and insert item from my
Contacts
file -- specifically, the DL. Double-click on the icon to confirm that
it
is, indeed, the DL. It is. Send it.

In Outlook 2007, open the e-mail. Click on the attachment. It is a
blank
e-mail. There is no data.

Outlook 2003 uses Microsoft Exchange.

Outlook 2007 uses POP/SMTP.

I hope this is the information you're looking for.

State the precise steps you are using to insert the DL and what type
of
mail
transport you are using.
Make sure neither sender nor recipient uses AV scanning of email.

I've tried this a number of ways, and have sent the message in RTF
format
with items inserted as DL icons. At the 2003 end, the attachment
opens
up
into a complete DL. On the receiving 2007 end, the attachment is a
blank
e-mail. No DL. No content. Any thoughts?

The DL's should not be in RTF format. Only the message is in RTF
format.
My instructions are explicit.
Open the DL.
Save it.
It will be saved to the default Contacts Folder.

Okay, I've got the DLs in RTF format, and they've been sent as
attachments.
Can I ask you to go through this step by step, pls?

I've opened the e-mail, and can do Save Attachments, but I'm not
sure
where
to place them. I'm not terrifically up-to-speed on how Outlook
2007
works
quite yet.

You insert the DL as an Outlook Item in an RTF message.
The recipient simply opens and saves to place them in their
default
Contacts
Folder.

Sorry about the blank post - just getting used to posting.

I created a number of Dist Lists in Outlook 2007 at home, and
sent
them,
successfully, to my Outlook 2003 account at work to be
modified.
Now
that
they're modified, I want to send them back to my Outlook 2007
account.

Inserting the file merely creates attachments of blank e-mails
on
the
2007
end. I can send the files in rtf format, but now want to make
them
into
Outlook 2007 Dist Lists. Can't seem to import them. What do
you
recommend?

I have searched all the help topics and could not locate any
information
about emailing a distribution list from 2003 to a user with
2007.
When a
distribution list is created in the 2003 version, its blank
when
the
user
opens the list from 2007 version. Have I missed something
that
explains
this
issue?

Thank you
