I've pretty much decided that I'm going to switch to Windows Live Mail.
The new machine I'm completing will use that, since OE is now history
in Windows 7.
So for now, I'm just going to postpone thconversion as my other computer
tasks are far more critical/important.

Install Windows Live Mail and import the messages
Create a new Identity in another computer and import the messages, then
move the Identity back to your computer http://www.insideoe.com/backup/
Manually create the folders and replace the dbx files.
