Wrong. You are 3 months out of date. Thawte discontinuing issuing free
e-mail certificates back in November 2009.

Thawte got bought by Verisign back in December 1999. Thawte continued as
its own entity within Verisign and continued issuing free (personal) e-mail
certificates for another decade. Then Thawte stop issuing any certs back in
November 2009.

If you had a current (non-expired and non-revoked) certificate, Thawte sent
you e-mail to inform you about the cut off and an offer to convert to a
1-year Verisign cert (which you had to pay for after the 1-year
subscription).

Alas, I hadn't renewed my certs in time so I didn't get the e-mail and
didn't find out until too late about the migration offer to Verisign. As a
consequence, I went to Comodo to get a free e-mail certificate. If you
didn't migrate back in November to get a free Verisign cert (which lasts
only 1 year before you pay for renewal), you SOL for getting a Thawte cert
anymore.
