Well, you can't delete it from the Data files tab and the OP didn't say he
went into Windows Explorer... so even though he used the wrong terminology,
it shouldn't cause anyone reading it to delete the pst from the hard drive.

I agree with you Diane, but here the word "Delete" was used instead of
remove, which can unfortunately lead someone to delete the actual PST.
Unlinking a PST from a profile is harmless, of course.
Just a minor clarification so we can save someone from making that
mistake.
