Default annoying spell checker

There is something wrong, but its not word or outlook - the dialog won't
come up unless you press F7 or hit send (if the option to check on send is
enabled).

What OS are you using? Are you using any addins or utilities (office,
outlook, or windows) for macros or to remap keys? Is speech to text enabled?

I don't think its Word doing it. Are you getting the spell check dialog
coming up as you type?

When I try to compose a new message in Outlook 2003 the spell checker
takes over and when I am part way through a word it asks if I want to
correct it. I click 'ignore all' and it the tells me 'checking is
complete', until I start another word and the process repeats.
I have disabled ' check before sending' in the spelling options menu
but it has not helped.
How can this be disabled?

Yes it occurs in the middle of a word.

I could become a fan of this type of forum!!
Your last memo gave me a clue - I tried to press the F7 button to see
the dialog box you referred to and realised the key was already
slightly depressed!! I pulled the keyboard apart, unjammed the key,
reassembled it and presto- no more spell checker. Wonderful thank you.
