Default why does my calendar hang when it is opened

Brian, I really really really appreciate the help.
I was beginning to panic.
But
The path you gave for the registry entry does not exist.
This is an XP Professional OS with Microsoft Office 2000 and I cannot find
the path
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows Messaging

Is there a more generic location for the registry entry please Brian?

PS, now do you add a new profile in Outlook 2000.
Your advice to another user points at the control panel and the mail
icon, but the option for profile is not visible as the icon selection
generates the add new mail account dialouge box.

You appear to be using Outlook 2000 in Internet Mail Only mode which doesn't
allow you to manipulate your mail profile. The only way to create a new one
is to edit the registry. If you're comfortable with that, see
