Do not download IE8. It is still beta.
What issues do you see regarding OE6 and IE7? (OE6 is part of IE6 and
remains OE6 forever).
have the negative effects on OE been fixed
Which negative effects? OE has been entirely out of production since June
2006. There will be no improvements and only security issues will be
addressed as long as it's supported. (April 2014 if running SP3).
I trust that since you value your message so much you have a reliable backup
program such as OEQB?
This freeware tool backs up everything in OE in seconds. Disregard what is
written in red. That is referring to a different program.

Hi Folks
OE6 is my only email app; and being a web-designer, I've got dozens of
mail-boxes and zillions of email sorting rules. I've been hesitating to
upgrade my IE6 browser because of many issues I see on the internet
regarding issues of IE7 & 8 adversely affecting OE6 performance.
a couple of questions: when you upgrade IE to v 7 or 8, does OE6 still
remain, or is it automatically upgraded to OE7 or 8?
AND .... have the negative effects on OE been fixed with any of the IE7 or
8 updates; meaning, is it yet safe for me to upgrade, since I depend on
the email program quite a bit?
thanks for any news on these concerns ...
Jerry.
