Outlook Express won't load after installing XP SR3
Still not sure. Does XP System Release 3 actually mean Service Pack 3?
Service Pack 3 was released in April, 2008. Did you just now install it?
So, you are going to Internet Explorer and from there to Outlook Express? OE
is a Pop3 account so accessing IE first is irrelevant.
Put a real OE icon on your Desktop. Reboot and see if OE opens from there.
Right click on the Desktop | New | Shortcut. Browse to *C:\Program
Files\Outlook Express\MSIMN.EXE* Click Next | Click Finish. A new shortcut
will be on the desktop.

Thank you for your reply Bruce. I'm sorry I didn't make myself clearer. By
SR3 I was referring to XP System Release 3. The OE icon is the one which I
get by Start | left column contains an Internet Explorer ican and a Mail
icon. On my system I don't have an Outlook Express with Start | All
Programs.
Therre is an Outlook, but no Outlook Express.
My "Internet cable access...." sentence was attempting to explain that I
do
have Internet access through my cable connection using Internet Explorer,
Quicken and other Internet applications. Seemingly the only application
that
was harmed by the windows upgrade was Outlook Express.
I hope this makes more sense. Thanks for your help.

What is SR3? Which OE icon? If you try to open OE via Start | All
Programs,
what are the results?
I don't understand this:
My Internet cable access is available by IE
That makes no sense at all.

After installing XP sr3 update, Outlook Express doesn't load. When I
click
on
the OE icon, an IE8 "Internet Properties" page comes up.
My Internet cable access is available by IE, Quicken and other apps.
Only
OE
seems to be effected. It's apparantly looking for the internet address.
The
Connections page is set-up the same as the other 2 computers on the
network.
IE8 was installed Sep 4
SR3 was installed Sep 5
Thank you for any help you can give me.
