Default question local mail and online servers

Hopefully someone can help... Currently, I can check my email either through
OE 6.0 or through my ISPs web client. For some reason, whenever I check my
email using the web client, it shows no new messages however when I get back
home and check my OE, there are new messages. It appears that once OE
receives my new messages, they are considered "old" and do not appear on the
web client.

Is there a way to have OE send/receive for new mail AND leave it on the
webclient so that I can retrieve them remotely?
Thanks

It is not that they are considered "old", and thus not visible. Rather,
when you access email with a POP3 client, such as MS Outlook Express,
the client downloads the email from the server, then deletes the
messages on the server. After this, there are no messages to view from
the web access.

If your provider permits IMAP access, as well as POP3 access, change
MSOE to use IMAP access.

If your provider does not permit IMAP access, you have to change the
behavior of MSOE. Tools Accounts Mail Properties (for the account
in question, if you have multiple accounts) Advanced: Check the box
labeled, "Leave a copy of messages on the server".

Be aware, depending upon the storage capacity allotted by your provider,
you may reach your storage capacity at some point, after which you will
not be able to receive new email.
