There are a variety of reasons for such behaviour discussed in this article.
Most are the result of using non ASCII characters. (discussed in Sympton 6

Hi all
I'm helping someone with Outlook Express regarding a recurring problem:
whenever she sends e-mail using longer than approx. 100 lines of text,
its tail is being truncated, i.e. the last section up to this ~100 line
is deleted.
This seems to happen on the OE side, as the truncated version is saved
under the Sent Items folder.
It also happens whether there are any attachments or not, i.e. even
though the message can be really small bytes-wise - if it's too LONG -
it's being cut.
Has anyone heard of such a prblem?
thanks a lot
yuda
