I had considered doing so but had not. I like XP quite well
except for its insistence on being set up for multiple users. Not a
big deal to make a new profile but it wouldn't have helped, see my

Can you not put same (the *stuff*) onto another partition just in case
such a thing happens again for some other reason? Just a thought!
Not likely. It was mainly something called "Citrix" that she had to d/l
from her employer's site to allow her access to various functions on their
humongous and frequently disfunctional site.
Her personal stuff is already on a different partition so NP with that.
