Default April 2006 update breaks address book?

I have the EXACT same issue. I restored my system to an earlier date and
the address book is still corrupt. Plus, the security update KB911567.
Any ideas?

Jennifer,

If that resolves it, for now, you may want to configure Automatic Updates to
either "Notify Only" or "Download but do not install". You can also choose
not to download or install 911567 and check: Do not tell me about it again.
How to configure and use Automatic Updates in Windows XP:

Uninstalling the patch will fix the problem; I know it cause a Sytem
Restore did yesterday and I have changed my setting to notify before
installing now.

The note though, is that 911567, for me, completely broke the Address
Book and I am prompted to reinstall Outlook Express if I try to open
any WAB file. And, because the Address Book is broken, I can't send
anything.

So, I guess I'll have to live with a security vulnerability in order to
have OE work.

OK, Davis. We are waiting for news from Microsoft about that patch.
