Default Add calendar item without stating a time frame

Before Outlook I used another calendar program that would allow me to add an
item; such as someone's birthday without putting in a time frame. I would
love to be able to do that with Outlook. I want to be able to print out a
calendar or publish on a Website and have this item show up without out it
being shown as an all day event. Any suggestions?
