The physical limit is 2 GB.
It's generally recommended to keep the DBX files under 100 MB. The
larger they get, the more prone to corruption they are. The most
heavily used files (Inbox, Outbox, Sent Items) are more prone to
corruption.
Also, regular Compacting (File, Folders, Compact All) is needed.
