Folder gone
And? You said what you did, but didn't ask a question. Did it not work?
You dragged the file from the Desktop to the message store. Did you get the
Overwrite prompt?
Once you dragged it into the Message Store folder it should have any
messages in it in the folder you created.
Are you sure this is not a Message Store from an old identity and you are
not actually dragging it into the Message Store you currently use?
Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of
your Outlook Express files. Press the Tab key to highlight the folder
location, then Ctrl+C. Close OE, then StartRunCtrl+V will put the location
in the box - Click OK and you'll see the OE files. Otherwise, write the
location down and navigate to it in Windows Explorer.
In Windows XP, 2K & 3K, the OE user files (DBX and WAB) are by default
marked as hidden. To view these files in Windows Explorer, you must enable
Show Hidden Files and Folders under Start | Control Panel | Folder Options |
View.

Single folders do not import. Use this workaround.
In Windows Explorer, click on the file and drag it to the Desktop.
The only place the old save.dbx file was located was in the stored folder.
I dragged that file to the Desktop.
Open OE
and create a folder with the *exact* same name as the one on your
desktop.
Did that.
***Copy a message from any folder to the new one. You MUST do this.***
Close OE. Go back to Windows Explorer and Click Desktop and drag the
folder
I dragged the file and not the folder.
from
the Desktop to the OE store folder that you clicked on to reveal the .dbx
files. Prompt - "Do you want to overwrite......."? Click Yes.
Did that. At this point I have dragged the FILE from the stored location
and then copied it back to the stored location.
