Default merging .PST files

Questions asked in the public forums are answered in the public forums. How
else would someone with a similar problem know how to resolve it if we all
called each other for assistance, not that it would happen anyway?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, Dorian C. Chalom asked:

| I am not totally confident I can do this on my own. I mean I messed
| it up so how do i think I can fix this. I would appreciate it if i
| could call you and walk through it with someone as knowledgable as
| you.

|| Easy to resolve.
|| First make sure both PST files are open in your profile and that you
|| know the name and location of the file you want as your default
|| delivery store, then designate it a such he
|| 1.. On the Tools menu, click E-mail Accounts.
|| 2.. Click View or change existing e-mail accounts, and then click
|| Next.
|| 3.. In the Deliver new e-mail to the following location list, select
|| where you want new messages delivered. (If you never specified a
|| custom display name for this .pst file, you probably see two entries
|| for Personal Folders files. Select the one that is not highlighted
|| if you want to change to the other. When you click the arrow to show
|| the list of files, click the second Personal Folders entry in the
|| list.)
|| Then just drag and drop any entries from your old default PST file
|| into your new one. Once you're done, just R click and close the PST
|| file that is no longer your default.

|||| Before we waste a lot of time giving you instructions that may or
|||| may not apply, start by specifying your Outlook version and decide
|||| which PST file you'd like to keep as your default.

||||| I made a huge mistake....
|||||
||||| In restoring my .pst files I attached to the incorrect one and
||||| now i have a lot of information in the incorrect one that I need
||||| to have moved to the correct one. Providing I even know what the
||||| correct one is...then there are emails still on the email server
||||| that need to be downloaded also.
|||||
||||| Can someone please walk me through what I need to do to clean up
||||| this herendous mess! Please?
|||||
||||| Thank you
