Default How do you set-up Outlook 2003 without the duplicate Personal

Thanks for the reply.
I followed your directions (twice). When I create the new profile and open
this profile in Outlook, only one Personal Folder (with the house & clock
icon) is present. However when I went to File/Open/Outlook Data File and
selected the pst file to use, it added the data to a newly created Personal
Folder (with the multiple folder icon). So again I have 2 Personal Folders,
the first with no data, the second with my data. How do I get rid of the 1st
Personal Folder?

You haven't been following the directions at all.
Yes, you create a new profile.
No, you never import a PST file or overwrite a PST file. That's why you get
a corrupt profile and a duplicate PST file.
If you want to reuse your previous PST file, just open it in your new
profile and set it as your default.
The Help files and KB contain instructions:

I know this issue has been addressed here, however I still cannot eliminate
the 2nd Personal Folder in Outlook. I have done the followiing - each
time
creating a new profile in Control Panel - Mail:
1. Importing the old pst file (this does not import the data).
2. Copying the old pst to the pst file created for the new profile.
I am a novice user so do not understand some of the terminology (e.g.
migrating files). Can you help?
