Default Replying with Boilerplates

thanks! now i see what the file radio button is about, when you are creating
the sig files! so it works, a clever solution tho not part of MS design. why
dont they just add a template function?

and now i see it was an eml that created the garbage. a plain text file
works fine.
or html i you want to use a hotlink?
but i think i will just disable that security patch, or download netscape
mail - that's a real mail program!!

First you use something like Front Page or Netscape/Mozilla Composer to
create your sigs in html. Put them all in one folder. Open OE. Go to
Tools/Options, Signature tab. Click on the New button. Name the Sig.
Click below where it says File and then click on the Browse button. Find
the HTML file you made. Double click on it. Done. OK your way out and
then open a New Message and try it out. You'll like it! If you want to
change the sig, just open the corresponding HTML file, change it and
save it.

thanks. i still do not know what the radio button file search was about,
but i did create a new message and inserted the new sig i had made. but it
was inserted with an amazing amount of garbage and reformatting. useless.
even if it works you still neeed to enter a subject every time, yes?

Set your files up as signatures.
You are going to insert a signature.
The cursor must be in the message composition area for Insert to be
available.

Sorry, which is the file radio button? are se still working in OE here?
we must open a message in order to then insert the file, yes?
i do not see how to do this, thanks.

Tools, Options, Signatures, create several signatures.
Click the File radio button.
Browse to the file that you want to insert.

this is clever but i cant make it work.
what do you mean 'select file and browse to text or html'?
when i try just starting a new message it will not allow an insert
signature.
how do you actulaly call up the saved 'template message' or boilerplate
message?

You might check in one of the stationery NGs for details, but you
should
be
able to use Insert | Text from file and choose the stationery (or
template)
html file when composing the message.

Stationery in OE appears to be different than stationery in other
email
programs. I'm trying to use boilerplate emails in response to some
of
my
email
but I don't see a way to do this through OE but my guess is there
is
a
way. Help
please!

Thanks,

Cindy

Thanks Steve. I'm trying to replicate what I had years ago with
Eudora
which was
"Reply With" and was a saved text email that would automatically
reply
to
an
email with that text. I would have several available to use at any
time.
Based
on what I see with OE, stationey is more about appearance than
content
but
maybe
I'm misunderstanding.
