Using multiple ids in Outlook 2002 in non-Exchange environment
Multiple POP accounts are certainly supported. Many if not most users use
multiple accounts with no issues. You can use rules to move email according
to the account if you like. Filterign the Inbox based on account can also be
used. Outlook 2007 offers built-in control over the delivery location. There
might be a public beta available soon you can sign up for.
To keep email from multiple accounts totally separate then use separate
profiles - one for each account.

I'm referring to 2 separate email addresses used by the same person. In an
Exchange environment, I can have multiple ids all available in the same
Outlook session. I'm trying to find out if Outlook can support that kind
of
thing in a non-Exchange environment and, if so, how to get about setting
it
up and accessing it.

I'm not sure what you are referring to here as two "id's". You can
certainly
have two independent profiles but you can't run two instances of Outlook
at
the same time. You can also share access to an IMAP account but the same
applies.

Is it possible to set up Outlook 2002 to use 2 ids in a non-Exchange
environment (Earthlink) and have them both displayed at the same time?
Is
it
possible in a POP3 setting or does it need to be set up as IMAP? If
they
cannot both be displayed at the same time, how do you switch from one
to
the
other?
