I have to following problem - I know this has been done to death recently,
but none of the solutions seemed to work for me.
The links appear as normal in Outlook 2000 - for instance I keep a check on
jobs, and get regular emails from job agencies.
From one agency, the link is words, such as below. These are in blue,
underlined as usual for hyperlinks, and when I have my mouse over them, the
URL address (the mycareer one below) appears in the status bar - as below
the job description here, but clicking does nothing - no browser opens or
anything, and right clicking just opens the "Copy, Save Background as, etc
dialog.
Transport Consultants - Project Manager
This appears in the status bar as :
http://mycareer.com.au/consumer/find...ertid=1874 93
If I copy the Text above (the "Transport Consultant...") and paste into
word, it appears as a hyperlink, and the hyperlink works - clicking it opens
Firefox, and takes me to the site.
Some addresses (word addresses such as "Transport etc...) don't open
Firefox, but open the "nt" folder in my windows directory. No message as to
why - the folder just opens.
When the address appears in Outlook as a URL as below, it works as it
should. (Some of the links are sent by the job agencies this way, rather
than the "Transport Manager..." format).
http://employment.byron.com.au/tpjob...sp?id=j7681096
Both types "used" to work correctly, but stopped when I installed the latest
Internet Explorer to check out.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Sorry about the html format (if you
use text) - it's just to show the links as they appear in Outlook.
Regards,
Rob Lepper
