This is kind of a dumb question but I'm going to ask it anyway. I turned
off my auto update so now is there anyway to tell if an update will cause
trouble or not or should I just wait until someone on the newsgroup has
trouble? Not good. Thanks.

As far as I can tell, to fix a problem that didn't need fixing.

Thanks Bruce. That took care of the problem. Would you happen to know
what these updates were for?

I think MS just added that to discourage removal. It is not on my machine
and will never be until they fix saved eml files so they do not appear as
already sent.
IMHO, remove it.

I read in another newsgroup message about problems caused by the
update KB911567. I've also had trouble with corrupt phone book and I
can't reply to messages or combine news messages. Could this be my
problem? If it is I did go to add/remove programs and was going to
remove it but if I do a remove message comes up "If you remove this
update the following might not run right KB900485, KB908531, KB911562,
KB912812. Will it be alright still to remove KB911567? Thanks.
