No mail sent in express when clicking on mail link

Hi and thanks for answering, I got a funny thing happening in Outlook
Express, if I send mail from within OE it works but when I click on a
link to send mail it doesn't send anything. OE brings up a mail diolog
box but when I click send nothing is sent!! I'm using 5.50.4522.1200
with win89 se. thanks again
