That error usually indicates temporary problems on MSN/Hotmail's end, kls,
and the problem automagically clears up after a bit. Until that happens, he
should access the account at
www.hotmail.com.

My husband and I have an MSN mail account that we both use, each on our
own computer. He prefers to access it via Outlook Express 6.0 and I
prefer to use Hotmail. We both have Windows XP on our computers.
Recently, I tried the new Hotmail Beta program for a very short time and
found it difficult and slow so I switched back to original Hotmail. Now my
computer is fine with either Hotmail or Outlook Express but he cannot use
his Outlook Express. He can use Hotmail and it is the original version.
He gets the following message:
Unable to poll for new messages on your HTTP server. Account: 'MSN Mail
(our )', Server:
'http://oe.msn.msnmail.hotmail.com/cgi-gin/hmdata', Protocol: HTTPMail,
Server Response: 'Redirect to partner', Port: 0, Secure (SSL): No, Error
Number 0x80004005
Of course the "our address" is our actual email address - I'm just leaving
it off so I don't get any spam. And I'm not sure the Beta thing has
anything to do with it . . .
Can anyone help us out there? This is very frustrating.
Thanks!
